Creating a positive future for off-road recreation in Louisiana

VISION:
To establish and preserve Off-Highway Vehicle riding areas in Louisiana through organization, education and political action, and to have Off-Highway Vehicle recreation recognized as a bona fide form of outdoor recreation.

MISSION:
Establish a strong network of off-road enthusiasts, dealers and their supporters in order to create and preserve quality off-road vehicle riding opportunities in Louisiana while educating ourselves and all ohv users in safe and responsible off-road use.

PURPOSE:
1. Establish and maintain a Louisiana state Off-Highway Vehicle program that will result in regional off-highway vehicle areas across the state.
2. Strengthen existing OHV groups through improved organizational skills and increased membership.
3. Promote a positive image of the sport with land managers, government officials and the public.
4. Create a statewide communications network of OHV enthusiasts and their supporters.
5. Provide educational opportunities and reference materials in volunteer development, organization and meeting management, and resource development.
6. Develop partnerships with "decision-makers" to help them recognize that OHV use can be effectively managed
7. Ensure all OHV enthusiasts are aware of the impact of their actions on the environment.
8. Invest in youth through safety and environmental education.

WHO IS BEHIND LORVA?

Individuals, members of clubs, and dealers just like you, who share common interests in our sport and wish to enhance and protect OHV opportunities in Louisiana.

WHY DO WE NEED LORVA?

Participation in the same sport we are all faced with the same battles: land closures limiting legislation etc. We are each up against the same issues and challenges with the same risks and opportunities. By sharing experiences, victories and defeats we can help each other be winners, or better yet avoid conflict altogether.

WHAT CAN LORVA DO FOR ME?

The LORVA provides you with an opportunity to draw on the experience of other persons or groups who may have already faced the dilemmas you currently face. Additionally we can provide a unified voice when our sport is threatened or offered a chance to grow.
